UPDATE: Due to a lack of volunteers and funding, clients must be able to attend one of our safety workshops in order to receive security equipment and training on how to use them. We understand that recently experiencing a traumatic event can make performing such a task daunting, but we promise the atmosphere will be a fun, supportive, and empowering one. Child care and transportation can be provided if necessary.

Our programs are specifically designed for anyone experiencing or who has experienced assault, domestic abuse, unwanted attention from a stalker, or another form of violence/intimidation.
The following programs are offered separately or combined to sure up your sense of peace and security while at home or out in the world.
HOME ASSESSMENTS
Safe Way Out volunteer staff members who are experienced security experts will visit your home to do a comprehensive security assessment. At that time, they will make recommendations for tools and strategies to assist you with both physical safety and emotional well-being.
SELF-DEFENSE CLASSES
Our volunteer staff members love sharing their knowledge and strength to help others build theirs. We offer classes— appropriate for all fitness levels — at undisclosed locations for the protection of your anonymity.
SITUATIONAL AWARENESS & SECURITY PROGRAMS
Situational awareness may not come naturally to everyone, but anyone can learn to take better care — everywhere. Our volunteer staff share expertise and real-world strategies through seminars and classes on awareness and self-defense.
PERSONAL PROTECTION WORKSHOPS
Great for those in need of customized instruction, Safe Way Out offers one-on-one security training classes to clients and the public.
NIGHT WATCH
In some cases, we can match those in need with a private security professional who will keep watch throughout the night from a remote location or via surveillance cameras.
CAROL KITS
We provide special emergency “kits” complete with burner phones and access to Uber funds for those still living in uncertain or dangerous situations.
EMERGENCY HOUSING
We can help provide temporary shelter in hotels and other safe locations for those leaving dangerous situations with nowhere to go. (one week maximum)
